My dog!

So my dog who has been great growing up is in the past few months is getting really scared and aggressively barks whenever we walk by an unfamiliar dog. This has been frustrating since my girlfriend and I have been trying to train him to be friendly since we are going to be living in NYC for our clinical rotations. So now whenever I go out i have his harness on and i carry treats to distract him. Hopefully i can break this habit he has

50 decline situps with 8lb ball
20 push-ups

Not bad but could do better!

Anonymous said: This must be a very common question for you, but I'm gonna go ahead and ask you anyway. How do you manage to make time for a workout while dealing with the course work? It can't be easy. I'm struggling to juggle the two right now (unsuccessfully)

Well its always good to take a break, even if you dont feel like you need it. If its not exercising, I at least try to take a walk with my gf and my dog or just take some time to let my brain soak in all the information. There is no point in learning something if you cant remember it. Also make sure you get plenty of sleep, long term memorization requires sleep, consolidation they call it in neurology. So definitely find a good balance, exercise and rest and you will do much better and be much happier overall. First semester I studied non stop no exercise no nothing. I was miserably and felt overwhelmed. So take some time for yourself!

Each day building to a better diet, I will now eat an apple a day unfortunately to keep the doctor away will not work because I am studying to be an MD and so is the most beautiful girlfriend I can ever ask for.
